নারায়ণগঞ্জে হত্যা মামলায় একজনের মৃত্যুদণ্ড, আরও ১৭ জনের যাবজ্জীবন

নারায়ণগঞ্জের রূপগঞ্জে Stunning developments unfolded in a murder case where the court sentenced Towlad alias Jahirul to death. Additionally, 17 other individuals received life imprisonment. The verdict was announced yesterday, Thursday, around midday by Judge Mominul Islam at the additional district and sessions court of Narayanganj. During the announcement, Mohammad Ali, the convicted in life imprisonment, was present in court. The individual sentenced to death is Towlad alias Jahirul. The 17 individuals given life sentences include Mizan, Mohammad Ali, Abdul Latif, Hanif, Sohel, Sabul, Milan, Selim, Gulzar, Leda Faruk, Rasel, Momen, Saddam, Shahin, Ruhul Amin, Abul, and Pandit.

According to the court’s confirmation, additional Public Prosecutor Advocate AKM Omar Faruk Noyon stated that in the 2012 murder case, 26 people were accused. Among them, Towlad was sentenced to death, and 17 others received life imprisonment. Six individuals were acquitted, and two accused had passed away. During the sentencing, one accused was present, while the rest are at large.

The case details reveal that on May 2, 2012, in Mashimpur area of Rupganj, Nazrul Islam Babu (48) was brutally murdered with stabbing and gunfire after protesting against drug trading and violence. Nazrul’s father, Jalal Uddin, filed a murder case against VPP Sohel and his associates. After the trial concluded, the court handed down the verdict. The incident shocked the local community and brought justice for the tragic loss of Nazrul Islam Babu.
